Matthew A. Swanson
AssociateMatthew Swanson is an attorney at the law firm of Leonard, Street & Deinard in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has represented and advised debtors, trustees, lenders, and creditors in a variety of insolvency contexts and in virtually all aspects of bankruptcy. Matt has served clients in various industries, including manufacturing, automotive, energy, and retail, in both litigation and transactional matters. His experience includes: identifying, negotiating and implementing strategies of reorganization and liquidation for companies both in and out of bankruptcy; selling and purchasing distressed assets; representing parties in secondary market transactions of distressed debt; litigating contested matters on behalf of debtors and creditors in state and federal courts; and formulating strategies to assist companies dealing with troubled and bankrupt customers. Highlighting his experience in the energy sector, Matt represents a green energy design-builder in connection with several ethanol bankruptcies. Matt obtained his B.A. from the University of Michigan, his J.D. from the University of Southern California, and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
